I wouldn’t say I am a fan of smartwatch, i just owe a Samsung Smartband and recently a LG Urbane. But to honest, I’m following the market, and always open to buy a new smartwatch. I have been quite impressed by the LG Urbane and Huawei smartwatch at Mobile World Congress this wear and I went for the LG as the Huawei was, and is not yet available.
This wearable market is becoming massive and all the manufacturers are going to show their new toys, so this is what you have or will have in stock in 2015 if you are looking to buy a smartwatch.
Samsung Gear S2
Samsung just announced the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 this week along with a teaser for their new rounded smartwatch. Techradar gives us some insight on what to expect from the new Samsung Gear S2. Here the most important features :
- Rotating Bezel
- We already knew it, but the Gear S2 won’t run Android Wear
- Hearth rate monitor
- The Gear S2 will also be focused on sport and Fitness
- Intuitive interface
- S voice feature

Motorola Moto 360 2
The Motorola 360 is quite a good smartwatch, being the clear leader in total Smartwatch sale in 2014 according to a study written by Canalys . Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo Chairman is going to surf on this success by launching a successor to the original Moto 360. The first rumours states that the Moto 360 2 will feature a 360 x 360 resolution display and is going by the codename Smelt. Here few pictures that have been leaked.
Tag Heuer Carrera Wearable 01
Tag Heuer is working closely with Google and Intel for their first smartwatch, the Tag Heuer Carrera Wearable 01. While all the software side is developed in the Silicon Valley, the rest is built in Switzerland. The Tag Heuer Carrera Wearable 01 will be a true jewel of technology with a lot a built in sensors (steps,calories..), a battery life of around 40h, which is quite compared to what is offered at the moment.
Also, one thing will differentiate this smartwatch from the competition, is it will incorporate interchangeable components that will let you upgrade the Carrera Wearable. We also know the price, $1400, and it will be available in November in the US.
I had the chance to see the Huawei Watch during my stay in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress and was impressed by the quality of the display and « real watch » feeling. We already know a couple of thing about this smartwatch :
- AMOLED screen, 1.4 inches at 286ppi
- Qualcomm processor at 1.2GHz
- 4 Go internal memory
- 512 of RAM
- 300 mAh battery
- 3 colors: Black, Gold and Silver

We still don’t know when the Huawei Watch will be release, but it may be pushed after summer 2015.
Asus ZenWatch 2
Asus introduced the ZenWatch 2 during the Computex in Taipei earlier this year. The ZenWatch 2 will have the same curve as the first ZenWatch, but Asus did manage to add some new elements.

Pebble Time Steel
The Pebble Time Steel, a more luxurious version of the Pebble Time, is now available to pre order . What differentiate the Pebble Smartwatch from the rest of the competition ? It’s a smartwatch that contains only the essential features (not saying that in a pejorative way) and that lasts! While the Pebble Time has a battery life of 7 days, the Steel version can last 10 days! This is due to the e-paper display and the less evolved LCD screen.
